Jakarta (June 30, 2026) – Safety is an integral part of rally racing. Taking place on routes that wind through open areas—such as gravel roads, forested areas, and plantations—rally racing carries a higher level of risk than circuit racing. These conditions drive the need for technology capable of providing accurate, real-time monitoring.

In response to this need, Aris Pujud Kurniawan, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer of TransTRACK, led the development of the Rally Tracking System, a technological solution designed to help organizers monitor the position and condition of each rally vehicle in real time, while also speeding up response times in the event of an incident on the track.

According to Pujud, the development of this technology is driven by a desire to establish higher safety standards in the world of rally racing.

“Rallying is a high-risk motorsport. Unlike circuit racing, which takes place in a confined area that is easy to monitor, rallying takes place on vast courses, requiring a monitoring system capable of providing real-time information. That is why we developed the Rally Tracking System,” said Pujud.

Development of the Rally Tracking System began during the Proof of Concept (POC) phase in 2024. For more than two years, the TransTRACK team has continued to refine the system so that it can operate optimally under various track conditions, including areas with communication network challenges and high-speed vehicle movement.

According to Pujud, the biggest challenge is not just providing tracking devices, but ensuring that location and vehicle status data can be received quickly and accurately even though the rally takes place in remote areas.

“Rally areas are often located in regions with limited cell service. That’s why we’re constantly developing technology to ensure the system can continue to provide precise information on vehicle location and condition, so that organizers can make decisions more quickly,” explained Pujud.

The TransTRACK Rally Tracking System integrates devices mounted on vehicles with a software-based monitoring platform. This system allows race control to monitor the positions of all participants in real time and receive notifications in the event of an emergency..

The device is equipped with SOS, OK, Fire, and Blocked Road buttons that both drivers and navigators can use to instantly send information to the organizers.

“When a driver presses the emergency button, the information appears immediately on the monitoring dashboard in just about a second. That way, the organizers can promptly dispatch the necessary assistance—whether it’s the medical team, marshals, or help to clear obstacles on the track,” said Pujud.

Pujud added that this digital system complements the monitoring mechanism, which previously relied heavily on manual reporting. With real-time information, coordination among personnel becomes faster, enabling an effective response to emergency situations.

Through the Rally Tracking System, TransTRACK demonstrates its commitment to delivering technological innovations that support higher safety standards and greater professionalism in the organization of rally events in Indonesia.

“For us, technology must provide tangible benefits. The Rally Tracking System isn’t just a vehicle tracking device—it’s a solution that helps improve driver safety, speeds up the organizers’ response, and supports the hosting of safer and more professional rallies,” Pujud concluded.
